Newport First-Timer TipsSince many of you will be experiencing Newport for the first time, we wanted to share some insider tips and final details to help make your weekend as smooth and fun as possible.&nbsp;As a reminder, check out the map + recommendations card included in formal invites mailed to you - lots of specific recommendations on there (all are Cristian + Matt vetted&nbsp;😎) Getting Your Bearings:&nbsp;Newport is pretty compact and walkable! The Cliff Walk (definitely worth a stroll if you have time) runs along the ocean, and most of the mansion tours and downtown shops are within easy walking distance of each other. Our ceremony at Castle Hill Inn sits on the southern tip, with gorgeous water views in every direction. Thursday&nbsp;Night &amp;&nbsp;Friday:&nbsp;If you're arriving early, Thames Street downtown is where you'll find most restaurants and nightlife.&nbsp;Friday&nbsp;afternoon, we'd recommend checking out the famous mansion tours (The Breakers is the most popular) or just walking around downtown to get the lay of the land before our welcome party. Saturday&nbsp;Pre-Ceremony:&nbsp;Perfect time for coffee and pastries downtown, or if the weather's nice, grab a spot on the Cliff Walk for those Instagram-worthy ocean shots! Day-Of RemindersFootwear Reality Check:&nbsp;Castle Hill Inn's ceremony lawn is absolutely beautiful but can be unforgiving to heels! We genuinely recommend wedges, block heels, or flats. The grass can be soft in spots, and we want you comfortable and dancing all night.Weather Prep:&nbsp;June oceanside weather can be perfect or perfectly unpredictable! It might be breezy (ocean air!), so consider bringing a light jacket or wrap for the ceremony. If it rains, we'll have a tent set up, but either way, you'll be covered.Transportation:&nbsp;All the details are on our website, but just a heads up that we've got you covered for getting between venues! No need to worry about parking or directions. We seriously cannot wait to see you all and show you why we fell in love with Newport (besides falling in love with each other 😊). Need to know! 

How We Met Matt was returning from a business trip in Ireland and had just switched his Hinge location back to San Francisco. Cristian had recently arrived in SF for a summer internship and was first up in the queue. Even though Matt had a new hire sales training early the next morning, Cristian convinced him to grab drinks after Matt’s long 12-hour journey home. Our First Date Our initial meeting was casual drinks at a cozy bar near Matt's rental in the city. But our first real date was an all-day adventure starting with a hike in the Presidio and ending with dinner at A16 in the Marina. There was an immediate spark as we realized our shared passion for the outdoors, deep conversations, and the comfort of each other’s mature souls. Milestones &amp; Adventures Our relationship blossomed through memorable moments: - Navigating eight months of long-distance dating, alternating weekends between San Francisco and Los Angeles.- The unexpected acceleration of our relationship during the pandemic, moving in much sooner than planned and spending more time together than we could have imagined—putting our connection to the test in the best ways.- Supporting each other through significant career pivots, with Matt moving into consulting and Cristian pursuing real estate.- Traveling to both new and beloved places, including an adventure trying out life in NYC, which ultimately reaffirmed our deep love and commitment to San Francisco as our home base.

Friday Welcome Party

Getting to the Welcome Party

We have two options to get to the Welcome Party! 1. Take the Boat we've coordinated from Newport to The Boat House in Tiverton, RI We wanted to find a "fun" way of easing into (or getting intro'd to) Rhode Island. No better way than from the water. The first 70 to RSVP "yes" will be able to take the boat. Boat will pickup in Downtown Newport at Perrotti Park (39 America's Cup Ave.) Departure Time: 4:00pm 2. Take a Trolley Bus from Downtown Newport to The Boat House There will be (1) bus picking up at 4pm at the following locations: -Downtown Newport: Intersection of Thames St. and Memorial Blvd. W. (right next to the Red Parrot)-Hammet's Hotel-The Pell Hotel in Middletown 3. Uber or Drive (least recommended!) The Boat House is about ~30-35 minutes by car from Downtown Newport. Uber or Lyft is generally available, but factor in a wait time for your driver to get to you.

Getting Home from the Welcome Party

We'll have Trolley's running at 8pm and 9pm to bring folks back home from the Welcome Party. Drop offs will be at the following: -Castle Hill Inn-Harborside Inn-41 North-Hammets Hotel-The Pell Hotel (Middletown, RI)

Getting to the Castle Hill Inn

Sprinter Vans will run continuously from 3pm - 4:30pm, picking up at the following locations:-The Pell Hotel (Middletown, RI)-Hammets Hotel -41 North / Harborside Inn (pickup will be adjacent to the Red Parrot)

Getting Home or to the After Party

At 10:30pm, we'll have options to take you either back to your hotel, or to the afterparty (at a TBD location!)
